A fixture on the alternative rap scene, this Chicago native has already collaborated with Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Q-Tip. Often compared to those artists for his fluid, literate rhyming and musical style, Common aspired to be one of the great MCΓÇÖs like his idols KRS-One and Rakim. Common hit the scene with the single ΓÇ£I Used To Love H.E.R.ΓÇ¥ which was considered by many to be an anthem of what was wrong with rap. HeΓÇÖs gone onto release four albums, including Resurrection, Live From The Belly Up, One Day ItΓÇÖll All Make Sense, and his latest, Like Water For Chocolate. Two of those records included duets with his father, including the aptly named ΓÇ£PopΓÇÖs Rap/Fatherhood.ΓÇ¥ Common graced LAUNCH with his performance of ΓÇ£Time TravelingΓÇ¥ when we caught him in New York.
